CLINICAL MAN CITY KEEP THE HEAT ON ARSENAL WITH IMPRESSIVE WIN AT PALACE
Erling Haaland was at the double and Phil Foden was also on target as Manchester City kept pace with leaders Arsenal with a 3-0 victory at Crystal Palace.
Haaland was a peripheral figure for much of the contest but broke the deadlock on 41 minutes when he headed home Matheus Nunes’ pinpoint cross.
Palace had offered the greater threat with Yeremy Pino unlucky to see a shot crash against the crossbar.
The hosts were again left lamenting their luck following the interval as the impressive Adam Wharton struck the base of the post from 20 yards out.
There was an air of inevitability about City making them pay and Foden rifled home a low strike 21 minutes from time to notch a sixth goal in his last four league outings.
Haaland then bagged his sixth Premier League double of the season with a late penalty to seal the points and take his top-flight tally to 17 so far.
The result means City remain second but are back within two points of pace-setters Arsenal heading into the festive period. Palace sit fifth but have now lost back-to-back home matches in the top-flight, having previously been unbeaten at Selhurst Park.
Next up, Palace host KuPS in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday before visiting Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday evening. City are at home to Brentford in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday and then meet West Ham United in the league at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

CITY SET TO CUT THE GAP TO LEADERS ARSENAL
The Gunners made hard work of beating Wolves 2-1 last night - needing two own goals to prevail - but would have hoped Palace could provide a banana skin to thwart City and give them breathing space at the summit.
It doesn't look like being the case with time running out for The Eagles to rescue this.
