The American serves out to 30 on her third match point, getting a huge piece of luck off the net cord, to sink the second seed in just one hour and 36 minutes.
It was a special performance from the eighth seed, who avenged her Wimbledon final loss to the Pole back in July.
Anisimova will now face Naomi Osaka or Karolina Muchova in the last four.

The speed of the ball-striking is a joy to behold, but it’s the American who comes up trumps off her weaker wing, breeching the Swiatek defences in consecutive points to apply some serious scoreboard pressure.
