After completing a perfect weekend full of clean rides, Bartosz Zmarzlik collects his fifth world championship in Vojens.

The Polish rider joins an exclusive club of Speedway riders to do so, and makes history as the only rider in the Grand Prix era to earn five titles.

Zmarzlick said: "This is really unbelievable because all the titles are so different.

"Now it's so different because I think I made a hat trick, year on year.

"It's such a nice feeling and really I say for everyone here 'this one is so different, this title is so nice'

"All the time fighting, about five years, have been really hard for the family, hard for the team, hard for everyone who has been around me.

"A lot of big thanks for all the people around me, and of course the love to my wife and kids because she really understands and has been a big help.

"This is really unbelieveable, I don't really know what to say now because the last two months I haven't had a life.

"I was thinking all the time about rides and corners and making the starts and laps.

"Life was hard but now I think it's great."

ZMARZLIK ON THE VERGE OF FIFTH TITLE

Zmarzlik eagerly sits on the verge of snagging his fifth world championship as the title fight comes to a near-halt. The defending champion chooses the inside gate for the final ride in Vojens. Lambert needs a win to take the title fight to the last round, otherwise Zmarzlik takes it home in Denmark.

SEMI FINAL 2 - LAMBERT, BEWLEY, JENSEN, JANOWSKI

Lambert falls under pressure in title fight as Zmarzlik is on the verge of winning his fifth title after title fight comes to a halt. Janowski got off to a great start while Lambert hunts him down from second. Lambert attempts a move down the inside but settles for second while the two fighters head to the finals.

SEMI FINAL 1 - LEBEDEVS, KUBERA, VACULIK, ZMARZLIK

Zmarzlik could snag his fifth championship here today from the inside line. Zmarzlik leads the way with a clean start after Lebedev launched off the line, but the defending champion shut the door in his face. With a brilliant race, Zmarzlik is through to the finals comfortably and sits on the verge of making history.

STANDINGS AFTER 20 HEATS

HEAT 20 - FRICKE, HUCKENBECK, HOLDER, KUBERA

Kubera got off to a great start from the outside, a rare move tonight, and led the pack heading into the first corner. Holder pulled off a great move on Huckenbeck to climb into third, chasing Fricke for second place. Kubera picked up back-to-back wins and collects three points while Fricke settles for second.

HEAT 19 - KVECH, BEWLEY, ZMARZLIK, WOZNIAK

Zmarzlik chases Bewley who stormed down the first corner to lead the race ahead of the defending champion. The Brit earns his way to the semi-finals while Zmarzlik follows, finishing ahead of Kvech and Wozniak.

HEAT 18 - JANOWSKI, VACULIK, JENSEN, LEBEDEVS

Janowski took the lead by squeezing around the first corner, chasing those crucial points to earn his way into the semi-finals. Vaculik settles for second ahead of Lebedevs while Jensen fails to score for the first time this evening.

HEAT 17 - NILSSON, LAMBERT, THOMSEN, LINDGREN

Lambert needs to win this heat otherwise Zmarzlik becomes a five-time champion in Vojens, after Lindgren suffers a shocking day in Denmark. Lambert leads the pack off the line, holding the inside line from Lindgren chasing the three points. The Brit earns his way to the semi-finals, hoping to force his way into the silver medal positions.

STANDINGS AFTER 16 HEATS

HEAT 16 - JANOWSKI, WOZNIAK, KUBERA, THOMSEN

A brilliant first turn for Thomsen was lost as he fell to third place in an extremely close battle. The two Polish riders Wozniak and Kubera battle it out for first, with Kubera coming out on top. Wozniak settles for second ahead of Thomsen but Janowksi misses out for the first time this evening.

HEAT 15 - LEBEDEVS, KVECH, LINDGREN, FRICKE

Kvech leads the pack after the opening lap while Lebedevs ran wide around turns 3 and 4 to fall down to third. Fricke chases Kvech but the Czech rider flies away with three points.

HEAT 14 - VACULIK, ZMARZLIK, LAMBERT, HOLDER

Hoping to secure his fifth championship, Zmarzlik narrowly missed first place while Vaculik nailed the opening lap to lead the race from start to finish. Lambert picked up one point while the Aussie rider Holder failed to score in a disappointing Vojens outing. The defending champion settled for second, knowing his semi-final place is secure.

HEAT 13 - JENSEN, BEWLEY, HUCKENBECK, NILSSON

Brilliant first corner from Jensen saw him please the home crowd leading the pack while Bewley began his chase on the opening lap. Nilsson fell back from Huckenbeck who lost out on points, while Jensen collected 9 points after 4 outings to earn his way into the semi-finals. Bewley sits in second place.

STANDINGS AFTER 12 HEATS

HEAT 12 - ZMARZLIK, KUBERA, LINDGREN, JENSEN

Zmarzlik got off to a great start, storming ahead of the pack as he made two close calls with Jensen and Kubera hoping to steal his glory. The defending champion picked up three points in a glorious ride to victory after shutting the door on the home hero. Kubera sits in third while Lindgren leaves heat 12 with no points.

HEAT 11 - LAMBERT, JANOWSKI, KVECH, HUCKENBECK

A brief delay saw riders head back to the pit gate for mechanical checks. Lambert stormed down the line while Huckenbeck touched the wall. Kvech and Janowski battled for second but Janowski prevailed and maintained his points-scoring consistency in second. Huckenbeck lost out on points but managed to keep his bike on track.

HEAT 10 - BEWLEY, FRICKE, THOMSEN, VACULIK

Bewley smashed the start on a redemption ride while Fricke lurks on Vaculik running in second place on the opening lap. The Brit pulled away and went on to lead the riders to glory and pick up three essential points. Vaculik settles for second ahead of Fricke while the wild card rider Thomsen fails to score points for the first time this evening.

HEAT 9 - WOZNIAK, LEBEDEVS, NILSSON, HOLDER

Lebedevs has another great start while Nilsson storms down the straight in an attempt to snatch the position from Lebedevs. The Latvian rider picked up another three points while Nilsson settled for second, Wozniak third, and Holder falling under extreme pressure to win a heat.

STANDINGS AFTER 8 HEATS

HEAT 8 - KUBERA, LAMBERT, BEWLEY, LEBEDEVS

Lebedevs rode flat out to the front of the pack with a perfect first corner to shut the door on Lambert. The battle ensued on the final lap but Lebedevs held on to the win and picked up three points ahead of the Brit. Kubera settled for third while Bewley suffered more disappointment at Vojens.

HEAT 7 - HOLDER, THOMSEN, JENSEN, KVECH

Holder had the first turn in his bag but lost it after the two Danish riders snatched the position, diving down the inside of the first turn halfway through the heat. Wild card rider Thomsen led the Danish 1-2 ahead of Jensen, putting on a show for the home crowd.

HEAT 6 - HUCKENBECK, LINDGREN, VACULIK, WOZNIAK

Lindgren stalls on the start while Huckenbeck leads the riders around the classic track in Denmark. Vaculik falls down to third while he defends from Wozniak yearning for a point. A superb ride from the German earns him three points in heat 6.

HEAT 5 - ZMARZLIK, NILSSON, FRICKE, JANOWSKI

Janowksi and Zmarkzlik storm into the first corner but the defending champion prevails and leads the riders going into the opening lap. The championship leader pulls away from the rest of the pack, back to winning ways with a strong start to the evening - picking up five out of six points in two rides so far in Vojens.

STANDINGS AFTER 4 HEATS

We see three wins from the inside so far in Vojens as the riders line up for the next few heats under the Denmark sunset.

HEAT 4 - THOMSEN, HUCKENBECK, LEBEDEVS, ZMARZLIK

The defending champion takes to the track hoping to lead off the line. Lebedevs makes a great start to lead the pack but Zmarlik settles into the race nicely and looks for a way around the inside, but loses the place to Thomsen in the final corner. Thomsen, the wild card, delights his home crowd.

HEAT 3 - LINDGREN, HOLDER, JANOWSKI, BEWLEY

A big crash happened off the line as Bewley and Lindgren made contact heading into the first corner. Lindgren stormed straight down towards the first corner, touching Bewley on his way. Lindgren is out of the heat while Bewley limps back to the pits.

Bewley got off to a great restart but lost momentum after the first corner, Janowski snatched the position from the Brit and stormed off into the distance.

HEAT 2 - FRICKE, JENSEN, WOZNIAK, LAMBERT

Fricke makes a great start round the inside and storms ahead of the other riders as Jensen attempts to pull one back, while Wozniak and Lambert battle for that crucial point. A tight finish sees Lambert pick up a point while Fricke grabs three.

HEAT 1 - NILSSON, VACULIK, KVECH, KUBERA

Nilsson uses the inside gate to dive down the corner, throwing his bike to the front of the pack as Vaculik falls under pressure on the back straight of the opening lap. Nilsson steals the win around the technical track with ease, picking up three points.

FIVE-MINUTE WARNING

The riders have been introduced to the thousands sitting in the iconic Vojens circuit, and we are now nearing the action while the national anthem plays.

JENSEN CALLED IN FOR MADSEN IN VOJENS

After a crash with Australian rider Jack Holder in heat 18 of the last round in Riga, Latvia, Leon Madsen has withdrawn from Vojens tonight.

The 2023 winner has yet to recover fully from the incident and has opted to pull out of the penultimate round, making space for the former Danish champion Rasmus Jensen.

Jensen will feature in the starting line-up at his home event in Vojens, returning for the third year running.

He won the 2022 Danish Championship, raced in the semi-finals as a wild card here in 2022, and scored six points here last year.

Heading into the penultimate round in Vojens, the defending champion Bartosz Zmarzlik sits at the top of the standings hoping to secure another championship.
