The Red Devils are keen to sign Ederson from Atalanta as they look for a replacement for departing midfielder Casemiro.
The 26-year-old could cost ÂŁ43 million, according to a report in the Mirror newspaper, which may make him an appealing target.
The outlet writes: ”United have been quoted upwards of £100m for some of their summer midfield targets. However, one quality middleman, who could fill the void left by the departing Casemiro, is likely to be available for less than half that amount.
”United are reportedly determined to secure a deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson, who could be made available by the Italian club for around £43 million this summer. Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi is expecting interest in the 26-year-old.”

Carrick set for United deal

Manchester United are planning to sign Michael Carrick as their permanent head coach, potentially before the season is out.
The Athletic believes that the deal would be for two years, with the potential addition of a further year.
The website states: ”Manchester United are proposing an initial offer to Michael Carrick for a two-year contract as head coach, with the option of an additional season to 2029.
”Talks are now underway after co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe gave the go-ahead following an executive committee meeting this week, where chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox made the recommendation for Carrick to get the job full-time.
”Negotiations will continue, and although there is much to sort, there is a possibility a resolution can be found in time for United’s final home game of the season against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, so Carrick can sign off from Old Trafford with clarity and fans are assured of who will be in the dugout next season.”

United target Bournemouth duo

With Marcos Senesi planning to quit Bournemouth in the summer, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur may move to sign him on a free transfer.
The Daily Mail also states that Senesi’s 19-year-old team-mate, Eli Kroupi, is also a target for United.
The paper reports: ”Senesi, 29, joined the Cherries from Feyenoord in 2022, and he has gone on to rack up 126 appearances for the club.
”However, the central defender has rejected multiple offers of a new deal and has long been expected to depart at the end of the campaign, with Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea and Tottenham among the clubs linked with him.
”Meanwhile, Daily Mail Sport reported United's interest in Senesi earlier this week, with Michael Carrick's side also keeping an eye on his team-mate Eli Junior Kroupi.”

United will not loan Rashford again

Manchester United are not prepared to loan out Marcus Rashford to Barcelona, and want to sell him for the agreed ÂŁ26 million clause in the current arrangement.
The Liga champions want to bring him back for another year after an impressive debut season in Spain.
The Daily Express explains: ”Manchester United are poised to resume talks with Barcelona over Marcus Rashford, with the Spanish giants eager to arrange another loan deal.
"While the winger has caught the eye during his stint at the Camp Nou, club officials and fans remain split over committing to a permanent transfer. Rashford, 28, joined Barca on loan from United last summer and has delivered 14 goals and 14 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.
”However, Express Sport understands [United] have no desire to sanction another loan, with the club eager to strip Rashford's considerable wages from their books.
”United are expected to rebuff Barcelona's attempts to extend the loan and remain firm on the agreed transfer fee, meaning Hansi Flick's side must pay £26m or risk losing the forward altogether.”
