Marcos Senesi to leave Bournemouth this summer as free agent amid strong Premier League transfer interest

Bournemouth have confirmed that Marcos Senesi will leave the club this summer upon the expiration of his contract at Vitality Stadium, with plenty of Premier League clubs interested in the defender.

Senesi has spent four years with Bournemouth on the South Coast and has made 126 appearances following his move from Feyenoord in 2022.
"From the first day I arrived, I felt at home at this club," Senesi said in a statement on the Bournemouth website.
"I’m proud of everything we achieved over the last four years and I’m grateful for the support the fans have always given me.
"AFC Bournemouth will always hold a special place for me and I will look back at my time here with fond memories.
"For now, there are still two big games left of the season and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together."
Senesi has played a pivotal role in central defence under Spanish boss Andoni Iraola, who is also set to leave the club at the end of the season.
Iraola's side are an impressive 16 matches unbeaten in the Premier League, while Sensei's good form throughout the campaign has attracted plenty of interest from rival clubs within the division.
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly held a long-standing interest in Senesi, while it is understood that the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring the situation.
Liverpool, Newcastle United and Barcelona are also reportedly interested in the defender.
With his contract coming to an end, the Argentinian has been free to speak to clubs across Europe since January 1 over a free transfer.
In 2024/25, Bournemouth secured their highest Premier League points tally (56) since their second promotion to the top-flight in 2022 - the same year the 29-year-old joined the club.
Senesi played only 17 times during that season due to a hamstring injury, which kept him out for four months, but has almost been an ever-present figure in the back line this season.

He has played 35 of The Cherries' 36 Premier League matches, as they look to surpass their record points tally (currently 55 with two games to play) and push for an unprecedented UEFA Champions League spot.
Bournemouth have never played in Europe, and are currently sitting in sixth position in the Premier League, with the top five guaranteed a spot in Europe's premier competition.
However, should Aston Villa beat Freiburg in the UEFA Europa League final - live on TNT Sports and HBO Max - and finish in fifth place, then the team in sixth position will also qualify for the Champions League.
With matches against Manchester City (H) and Nottingham Forest (A) still remaining in the league, in-form Bournemouth will still hope to pip Villa to the fifth qualifying spot.
They currently trail Unai Emery's team by four points, who play Liverpool at home and Man City on the road in their final fixtures.
