HAALAND BAGS 28TH CAREER HAT-TRICK AS MAN CITY THUMP LIVERPOOL TO REACH SEMIS
Erling Haaland netted a hat-trick as Manchester City surged into the FA Cup semi-finals with a 4-0 humbling of Liverpool at Etihad Stadium that will heap further pressure on Reds boss Arne Slot.
The Merseysiders started brightly with both Mohamed Salah and Hugo Ekitike missing good opportunities.
The hosts went close through Rayan Cherki before Haaland coolly converted a penalty on 39 minutes after Virgil van Dijk fouled Nico O’Reilly.

ERLING HAALAND CHATS TO TNT SPORTS FOLLOWING HIS HAT-TRICK HEROICS
Asked to sum up the result: "Amazing. In the first half we struggled a bit but after 30 minutes we kept going and kept going and in the end it’s an amazing game at home. Another Wembley trip for us is amazing and important. Amazing. Between 30 minutes and 60 minutes it's one of the better (performances of the season).
On his treble: "Of course, it’s been some time since I [scored a hat-trick] for City so I think it’s about time I do it again. Another hat-trick is always nice and special so I’m super happy."
On his overall form this season: "It’s been a bit too much up and down which is not good enough, and again, I can’t keep thinking about what I could have done differently, what didn’t happen and what did happen. I have to think about the next game and the reality now is that it’s a long week now as we’re not in the Champions League, which is not good enough. We won today and now we have to start focusing on Chelsea because it’s a massive game again."
On City's new-look front line: "We work in training - Antoine is new. It takes a bit of time with new players. Antoine is outstanding, Nico is outstanding, again. Today he gave me a tap in and won a penalty so I’m super happy."
On a return to Wembley and hopes of lifting the FA Cup: "Since I came to this club I've been in a few finals. Now we’re back at Wembley and it’s about trying to do our best as this club has to win trophies and perform at the best and biggest stage."

TNT SPORTS’ ALLY MCCOIST REACTS TO CITY’S EMPHATIC WIN
”I wouldn’t say they (City) dismantled Arsenal, but they were certainly comfortable in the League Cup.
”But after 30 minutes (today), they certainly dismantled Liverpool.”
On Liverpool’s trip to PSG in the UCL next: ”Absolutely (no time to dwell). They have to dust themselves down and put that completely to the back of their minds. They’ve been given a going over today, there’s no other way to put it.
”They’ve got to put it out of their minds because they’ve got a massive game (at PSG in midweek).”
Meanwhile, TNT Sports expert Joe Hart reacted to a difficult afternoon for Mo Salah.
"It was difficult watching him today actually. We’re so used to him being a confident player and I think that first opportunity that he had, when Khusanov fell over, got back up and tackled him, was a real tell-tale in how Mo Salah was going to play today.
"We saw him walk in at half time and he was devastated. Absolutely devastated. But he’s a senior player, he’s a big player for Liverpool. And obviously it will be difficult, and that last game of the season when he waves goodbye will be emotional. But right now he’s got to put it all out on the pitch and score goals for his team."

THE TNT SPORTS COMMENTARY TEAM DISCUSS MO SALAH'S FORM AFTER HIS PENALTY MISS
Ally McCoist: I hate to say I told you so but I just didn't fancy him at all. I didn't fancy him one bit (to score the penalty)."
Darren Fletcher: "What I would say is there's been a little bit of desperation about a lot of what he's done today - snatching at opportunities. Seems desperate to make his mark. Knows how big the game is. Knows what's happening at the end of the season."
McCoist: "Do you know something - it's a shame. Because he looks a shadow of the man that lit up this league. Lit up this country."
Fletcher: "That we've all admired for so long."
McCoist: "Yes. And it's a little bit of a shame that he's going out this way."
McCoist on the penalty: "It's a good save. That's the first thing you've got to say. But he doesn't look a confident man and a confident player at this moment in time."
