Sunderland 2-2 Arsenal result - Brian Brobbey scores stoppage-time equaliser to deny Gunners victory at Stadium of Light

Brian Brobbey scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser to clinch a draw for a spirited Sunderland side, as Arsenal were denied victory at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats were ahead at half-time through a brilliant finish by defender Dan Ballard, who took a nice touch past Declan Rice before blasting an effort past David Raya. The goal was the first time Arsenal had conceded since September, with over eight games played since then.

Bukayo Saka equalised shortly after the break with a right-footed finish which beat Robin Roefs at the near post with power.

The Gunners dominated most of the second half, and took the lead around the 75th minute through a sensational strike by Leandro Trossard. The Belgian gave himself a yard of space on the edge of the box before blasting a superb strike into the roof of the net.

The hosts did not give up and in the fifth minute of stoppage time, Brobbey showed great strength and improvisation to score an acrobatic effort and secure a hard-fought point for Sunderland.

The point means that Regis Le Bris' side remain unbeaten at home, and climb up to third place in the table before other sides play this weekend. Their next game after the international break is a trip to west London to face Fulham.

For Arsenal, the result means Mikel Arteta's side dropped points for the first time in six league games. However, they remain well ahead at the top of table, with a seven-point lead over Manchester City before they play Liverpool on Sunday. Their next league game is a north London derby clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Leandro Trossard scores a beauty! The ball is played to the Belgian on the edge of the box, he drops the shoulder to give himself a yard of space before blasting a brilliant strike into the roof of the net.

A pass is played to Eze, who takes a nice touch on his chest before hitting a sweet strike on his left but it is straight at Roefs and he is able to collect the ball.
