Liverpool recorded their first Premier League win of 2026 by coming from behind to sweep Newcastle United aside 4-1 at Anfield.
Hugo Ekitike scored twice, while Florian Wirtz and Ibrahima Konate were also on target as the Reds recovered from Anthony Gordon's earlier strike.
Newcastle were seeking a first Premier League win at Anfield in nearly 32 years and sounded a warning when Harvey Barnes rattled the post after a well-worked free-kick.
Eddie Howe's side then took the lead in the 36th minute when Gordon beat Alisson with a brilliant low drive into the bottom corner for his first Premier League goal in just over a year.
However, Liverpool came roaring back with two goals in as many minutes.
Ekitike tucked home Wirtz's square ball from close range before toe-poking past Nick Pope from a tight angle to complete the turnaround.
Wirtz played a neat one-two with Mohamed Salah and swept home a neat first-time finish to make it 3-1 midway through the second half.
Konate then put the icing on the cake in stoppage time with his deflected finish sealing a much-needed three points for Arne Slot's men.

However, Liverpool's response was imminent and superb, with a pair of lovely finishes from Ekitike turning the contest on its head.
The resurgent Wirtz, who assisted the first goal, then got in on the act, with a confident first-time finish giving him his sixth goal in 10 matches.
Even more fittingly, it was Konate who had the final word in his first appearance since the death of his father. Anfield rose as one when he helped the ball into the net in stoppage time to complete the rout that sees Slot's side apply pressure on the top four.
