Everton 3-0 Chelsea result: Beto double and classy Iliman Ndiaye strike earns big win in race for Premier League's European places

Chelsea were handed a fourth successive defeat in all competitions and a huge blow to their top four chances as Everton secured a big victory in their own hunt for Europe.

Beto struck twice against a shaky Chelsea defence before a classy Iliman Ndiaye strike wrapped up three points in a deserved 3-0 win.

Chelsea continued the sloppiness shown in their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain as they consistently gave the ball away cheaply in the early stages.

Robort Sanchez was fortunate not to gift Everton the lead when Beto stole the ball from him as he looked to pass out from the back, but it was not long until the striker did have The Toffees in front.

James Garner, recently called up to the England squad, slotted Beto through on goal with a pinpoint pass before the latter expertly dinked the ball over the onrushing Sanchez.

Chelsea started to get into the game in the second half when Enzo Fernandez was denied by a brilliant Jordan Pickford save but they were once again undone by Beto down the other end.

The striker galloped onto a pass from Idrissa Gana Gueye before shooting first time and, as Sanchez took the sting out of the shot, he could not prevent the ball from wriggling through his legs and trickling over the line.

Everton were excellent on the day, and they were rewarded with a third goal as Ndiaye picked up the ball on the edge of the box, shifted past Moises Caicedo and excellently found the top right-hand corner to add gloss to the scoreline.

David Moyes’ side are now up to seventh in the table and just two points behind Chelsea, who did not take advantage of Liverpool slipping up against Brighton & Hove Albion in the chase for Champions League football next season.

He stops an effort from the left which fizzes across his six-yard box with a couple of blue shirts waiting to pounce.

Everton want more!

Garnacho bends in a cross from the left and it goes well wide.

That sums up Chelsea's day, and they're heading for a fourth defeat in a row.

As is Dewsbury-Hall, who comes off for Tim Iroegbunam.

Dewsbury-Hall nearly comes up trumps against his old club as Everton hit Chelsea on the counter-attack, but his shot from a tight angle is straight at Sanchez.

Estevao swings it in from the left and Pickford punches it clear.

The England No. 1 has been excellent today.

Everton haven't been great in their new home this season, but this will certainly be a highlight.

And the result can't be underestimated, as it catapults them into the European places.

Delap also comes on for Pedro.

Ndiaye picks up a ball that comes over the top of the Chelsea defence and shifts past last-man Caicedo before planting the ball in the top right-hand corner.

Everton are charging towards three points!

The winger goes down on the left, holding his face and rolling around, and is subsequently booked after having a go at the ref.

Fernandez looks to run onto the ball in the box and Pickford charges off his line to get there first and win the ball.

Already on a yellow, Chelsea thump the ball up the pitch and the striker barges into the back of a defender as the referee quickly blows for a foul.

Chelsea have a mountain to climb now, just as they were starting to get into the game in the second half.

Rosenior still has Estevao and Liam Delap to call on from the bench, and it probably won't be long until we see one of them, or both.

Beto's effort is straight at Sanchez but too strong for the keeper, as the ball squeezes in between his legs and trickles over the line.

A huge bloke for Chelsea, but jubilation for Everton!

Fernandez picks the ball up on the left, cuts inside and curls a dangerous effort towards the back post but Pickford has the reflexes of a cat to push it wide.

The hosts have a free-kick in a good position on the right and the chance to get the ball in the box, but once again Sanchez collects Garner's cross, this time a bit more cleanly.
