Burnley 2-3 Fulham result - Goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Calvin Bassey and Harry Wilson hand Clarets seventh straight defeat

Fulham picked up a much-needed 3-2 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor, as they moved further away from the relegation zone.

Goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Calvin Bassey and Harry Wilson secured Fulham’s first Premier League win in three matches and condemned Burnley to a seventh straight defeat.

Wilson was involved in all three goals, as his scintillating form continued.

Fulham took the lead after just nine minutes, with Smith Rowe reacting quickest to Wilson’s corner to poke home past Martin Dubravka.

Wilson caught Burnley’s defence sleeping and produced a low corner that sneaked past the man on the front post and Smith Rowe was there to finish.

Lesley Ugochukwu almost levelled instantly for the hosts, latching on to a through ball before striking at goal, but Bernd Leno was equal to the strike.

Ugochukwu made no mistake with his second chance though, poking past Leno to level the scores after 21 minutes.

Josh Cullen picked up the ball in midfield, before slotting through the former Chelsea midfielder, who produced a composed finish.

Fulham were back ahead within 10 minutes and yet again Wilson was the one to provide that bit of magic.

The Wales international brought the ball down in the box, before dinking a delicate cross to the back post for Bassey to nod into the bottom corner.

Ugochukwu nearly equalised for a second time after producing a fizzing volley from the edge of the box that forced Leno into a smart stop.

Burnley should have levelled the game 10 minutes into the second half, with Jacob Bruun Larsen latching on to Smith Rowe’s back pass, but Leno produced another fantastic save.

However, it was Fulham who scored the first goal of the second half through Wilson, who struck his fourth goal in his last seven league games.

Sander Berge started the counter arrack, before Samuel Chukwueze picked out Wilson in the box and the Welsh international curled the ball into the far corner.

The hosts pulled one back with five minutes of normal time to play, with Oliver Sonne heading in his first Premier League goal, latching on to a brilliant cross by Quilindschy Hartman.

Marco Silva’s side managed to hold on, and they now host Nottingham Forest next weekend as they look to build on this result, while Burnley face a trip to high-flying Bournemouth.

Wilson latches on to the ball in the box and sets it to Robinson, but his strike flies well over the bar.
