CHELSEA MOVE SECOND TOP BEHIND ARSENAL WITH VICTORY AT BURNLEY
Chelsea moved second-top of the Premier League with a clinical 2-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor, boosted by fine finishes in each half from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez.
After repelling a vibrant start by the home team, Enzo Maresca's men showed their class as Pedro Neto arrived at the back post to head home Jamie Gittens' cross on 37 minutes.
Despite dominating large swathes of the second half that also saw Neto hit the post with a low finish on 63 minutes, they left it until the 88th minute to put the match beyond Scott Parker's side, who remain fourth from bottom of the table.
It was Enzo Fernandez who secured the three points after being set up by substitute Marc Guiu to sweep the finish into the net after a superb break from deep.
In truth, a third straight win in the top flight was no more than Chelsea deserved with a stout defensive performance giving them the platform to move above Manchester City in closing to within three points of leaders Arsenal, who host Tottenham on Sunday.
With Cole Palmer injured and Moises Caicedo left on the bench, Chelsea will still be in fine fettle ahead of a week that sees them host Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday before Arsenal visit Stamford Bridge in the Premier League next Sunday.

CHELSEA MANAGER ENZO MARESCA REACTS TO CHELSEA WIN
"I didn't like this kind of win, because it's tough," he said on TNT Sports.
"It's tough after the international break, 12.30pm, Burnley away, it's always a tough game. But the way we competed I am very happy.
"To come here and not concede is very difficult. It's normal to concede something. But overall they only had one real chance.
"During the game they didn't have any big chances and during the game we had loads of chances.
"Andrey [Santos] is doing very good. Today is a tough game, he is not playing much.
"It is not easy when you don't play a lot."
On Reece James coming off: "We planned 45 minutes for Reece James."It was very important to keep the momentum from before the international break.
"Now we'll recover our energy and are on to Tuesday."

PEDRO NETO AND ANDREY SANTOS SPEAK TO TNT SPORTS AFTER CHELSEA WIN
Pedro Neto: "Oh, it was a relief, you know. It's always difficult winning 1-0 away on this difficult ground. We had the attitude, we keep the clean sheet, so we are really happy with the win."
On his goal: "To be honest, it was a little bit funny because yesterday in training I had a cross and the header was really bad and the guys were joking with me, so today I could score the header with a beautiful cross and I'm happy to help the team."
On a big week for Chelsea: "It's always good to come back from international break when we are away for a little bit of time, but now we will spend more time together.
"It's really good and we are looking forward to the games [against Barcelona and Arsenal this week] because it is the type of games we want to play.
"This one is a different one with battles. Like I said, it was difficult to come here to play in this kind of ground, but we are looking forward for the next game."
Andrey Santos: "I'm so happy to play 90 minutes and help my teammates, but I think the most important is the victory and I'm so happy to get three points.
"My team-mates helped me a lot. I think it's easy for me to play with [Pedro], with the other players too. So I'm so happy to win this game."
Pedro Neto on Andrey Santos' performance: "He was unbelievable.
"The fight that he had in the middle of the pitch, the quality that he had to secure second balls, to take the ball away from the pressure.
"We need these kinds of things when we are in a game that there's a lot of battles to calm down the game, so I am really happy for him.
"He's working a lot, and we hope he continues to help the team like he's doing."
