RICE RETURNS TO FIRE ARSENAL TO HARD-FOUGHT WIN AT BOURNEMOUTH
Declan Rice’s double proved decisive as Arsenal came from behind to move six points clear at the Premier League summit courtesy of a 3-2 victory at Bournemouth.
Andoni Iraola’s Cherries were gifted a 10th-minute opener when a woeful pass from Gabriel allowed Evanilson to fire home with David Raya out of position.
The Gunners' defender quickly made amends six minutes later with a sweet left-foot finish after fine work from Noni Madueke on the right.
Arsenal moved up a gear following the interval and Rice turned the game in the visitors’ favour when he fired home his third league goal of the campaign from Martin Odegaard’s pass on 54 minutes.
The England midfielder then added his second of the evening 19 minutes from time when he swept in substitute Bukayo Saka’s cut-back.
Bournemouth set up a nervy finale when substitute Eli Junior Kroupi thundered in a spectacular effort from distance within seconds of taking to the field, but the hosts could not create an opening to rescue a share of the spoils.
The result means The Gunners pull six points clear of second-placed Aston Villa and seven ahead of Manchester City, who will aim to cut the gap and reclaim second spot when they entertain Chelsea on Sunday.
Next up, Bournemouth, who are now winless in 11 league matches and sit down in 15th place, are at home to Tottenham on Wednesday, while Arsenal host current champions Liverpool on Thursday night.

FORMER ARSENAL STAR PAUL MERSON REACTS TO A KEY WIN IN THE TITLE RACE
"It puts massive pressure on Manchester City ahead of tomorrow and a difficult game against Chelsea," Merson said on Sky Sports.
"They (Arsenal) didn’t play well today; didn’t play well and scored three goals. That tells you something about a team. Strong squad, the three subs they brought on made a difference and Declan Rice just runs people into the ground, just constantly going and going.
"(He) didn’t have the best of first halfs but ends up getting two very good goals."
