CHERKI DAZZLES AS MAN CITY COMPLETE CARABAO CUP COMEBACK
Eight-time Carabao Cup winners Manchester City are through to the quarter-finals at the expense of Swansea courtesy of goals from Jeremy Doku, Omar Marmoush and Rayan Cherki.
Goncalo Franco soared Swansea to dreamland early doors as the Portuguese midfielder netted a blockbuster 25-yard curler just 12 minutes in. But the hosts, despite initially defending robustly, were eventually carved open by a clinical City.
Doku equalised before half-time and swung the momentum well and truly in Man City's favour, deflecting his strike off the outstretched leg of defender Cameron Burgess.
The visitors were then simply too hot to handle after the interval as they piled on the pressure and Marmoush found a breakthrough, hammering into the roof of the net to give Pep Guardiola's side the lead.
Cherki, City's danger man throughout, then put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time as he slotted the ball into the bottom right corner from a low Josko Gvardiol cross.
A win at the Swansea.com Stadium was no less than Man City deserved as Guardiola's side proved they can indeed succeed without the goalscoring prowess of Erling Haaland.

NO HAALAND NO PROBLEM
There were a few concerns Man City couldn't succeed without top scorer and star man Erling Haaland scoring following Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa, but Pep Guardiola's men proved the doubters wrong tonight.
Yes, Swansea are in the division below, but there was still a job to do to come from behind. Tonight's scorers Doku, Marmoush and Cherki will be keen to kick on from here.

GOAL!! SWANSEA 1-3 MAN CITY (CHERKI)
That's that! Cherki finally gets his goal as he chops inside and places the ball into the bottom right-hand corner. Gvardiol notches the assist, but it looked as if the pass was intended for Marmoush instead.
Cherki certainly won't care as he deserves to get on the scoresheet after dazzling as Man City's star player all night long. Game over.

MAN CITY DESERVE LEAD
As much as Swansea started the game with a bang and purpose, Man City have absolutely dominated this encounter.
The visitors have maintained 78% possession and registered 19 shots, five of which have been on target.
Franco's goal was - and remains - Swansea's only shot of the night.

Swansea have no choice but to go for it now.

LEWIS NEARLY POUNCES ON FISHER SPILL
That was a close shave for Fisher! Lewis has a half chance in the six-yard box as Fisher drops Gvardiol's long shot, but the goalkeeper just about collects in time.
That was nearly a jinx from me there. Sorry, Fisher!

FISHER ENJOYING HIMSELF
Swansea's cup goalkeeper Andy Fisher is having a great night so far. He'll be disappointed to have conceded but he couldn't do a great deal about Doku's deflected strike.
Otherwise, he's not put a foot, or rather a glove, wrong.

BACKS TO THE WALL
Swansea haven't left their own defensive third for quite some time now. That's no real surprise considering Man City are the heavy favourites, but this is proper backs to the wall stuff.

FRANCO CAUGHT BY CHERKI'S ELBOW
Swansea goalscorer Franco is receiving treatment after taking the full force of Cherki's elbow as he tried to dribble away. Franco should be fine to continue, but it was a nasty blow to the face.

SWANSEA LOCKED IN
The hosts are fully focused as they seek to keep this fluid Man City side at bay.
Swansea aren't able to venture out often, so it's crucial they jockey and frustrate the visitors where possible. They're doing just that as I type.

MAN CITY UPPING THE ANTE
This is going to be a tough half for Swansea if the last few minutes are anything to go by. It's all Man City at the moment, though the most recent shot - from Marmoush - was well wide of the target.
