VAN DE VEN SCORES GOAL OF THE SEASON CONTENDER AS 10-MAN SPURS CRUSH COPENHAGEN
Micky van de Ven's magical solo goal - a stunning 95-yard dribble from the edge of his own box - was the standout moment as Tottenham Hotspur thrashed FC Copenhagen 4-0 to maintain their unbeaten start in the UEFA Champions League.
Brennan Johnson opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a composed finish after rounding Copenhagen goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski, but the Wales international was later sent off for a cynical challenge on Gabriel Pereira.
Tottenham's 2-0 lead, earned by Wilson Odobert's 51st-minute strike, looked fragile as they went down to 10 men, but the hosts somehow improved with the numerical disadvantage.
Van de Ven stunned the whole Tottenham Hotspur Stadium just three minutes after Johnson's sending-off, picking up the ball on the edge of the Spurs area and dribbling the length of the field before converting into the bottom left with power.
The physicality and speed on show were simply remarkable for the run, but the quick feet - enough to skip past several Copenhagen challenges - and the finish were exceptional in their own right, comparable to Heung-min Son's 2020 FIFA Puskas Award winner.
Joao Palhinha made it four to the good in the 67th minute, finishing off a devastating counter-attack that was started by Odobert and progressed by Cristian Romero's ambitious run and lay-off.
Thomas Frank will be thrilled with the margin of victory, but it could have been far more than 4-0, as Randal Kolo Muani squandered two huge chances before the break. Richarlison also missed a penalty won by substitute Dane Scarlett in second-half stoppage time.
Spurs soar up to seventh in the Champions League ahead of their next European fixture, a huge clash away at holders PSG on November 26.

WATCH: FRANK COMPARES VAN DE VEN TO MESSI
There probably won't be any better goals this campaign, Frank reckons.
"That could be goal of the season definitely," the Spurs boss told TNT Sports post-match.
"It was like Lionel Messi transformed into a centre-back, the way Micky ran through everyone! Fantastic goal."

FRANK: JOHNSON RED CARD 'HARSH'
Thomas Frank believes Brennan Johnson was a little unfortunate to receive his red card.
"In the heat of the moment, when he goes down in the sliding tackle, it's not like he has any intention to do anything that could be a good red," Frank told TNT Sports' Becky Ives.
"I think it's quite harsh to be honest. I think VAR sees the still footage on the leg and it makes it more brutal, so it's basically because he puts his leg down and slides into him, and it looks worse than it was. I don't think he did anything reckless."

HARGREAVES: 'ONE OF THE BEST GOALS YOU'LL EVER SEE'
Owen Hargreaves speaking in the TNT Sports studio:
"Just sit back and enjoy this. One of the best goals you'll ever see, ever. Sprinting by people that aren't even there. To stay strong and then to finish - that's ridiculous. Goal of the season, game over. Done."

FULL-TIME: TOTTENHAM 4-0 COPENHAGEN
It's all over here at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and this will forever be remembered as the night Micky van de Ven scored that goal.
Brennan Johnson's composed 19th-minute goal feels like a lifetime ago in what was a chaotic encounter in the UEFA Champions League.
Thomas Frank's men went down to 10 men when Johnson was sent off not long after Wilson Odobert gave Spurs a 2-0 lead, but it had more of a positive impact than a negative one.
Tottenham bizarrely went into overdrive despite being a man down, scoring twice more - including Van de Ven's incredible solo effort and Joao Palhinha's cool finish - to round off a dominant display in north London.

RICHARLISON MISSES FROM THE SPOT!
Richarlison fluffs his lines! And it's the woodwork that denies the Brazilian yet again as the ball thunders off the bar and is cleared away.
Given Spurs' huge lead, it really doesn't matter a great deal, but Richarlison will still be gutted to have missed from 12 yards.

WATCH: PALHINHA MAKES IT FOUR
It all got rather lost in the aftermath of the Van de Ven magic but Palhinha put this game beyond doubt with a composed finish, rounding off a devastating counter-attack.

VAN DE VEN DEFIES CENTRE-BACK PHYSICS
Joe Hart was in awe on TNT Sports commentary as he reacted to Van de Ven's special goal:
"Wow, wow, wow. This is one of the best displays I've seen from a centre-half. Dominant. Saw his chance, charged through Copenhagen.
"They didn't even look like they wanted to challenge him. Petrified of his pace and power. He's on the edge of his box.
"How many around him? Four, five. Not standing a chance. Incredible finish at the end of that run."

WATCH: VAN DE VEN'S 'ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL' SOLO EFFORT
Lead TNT Sports commentator Darren Fletcher, just like the rest of us, was left stunned by that third Spurs goal:
"That is absolutely sensational from Micky van de Ven. The pace, the power, the finish. Tottenham's leading scorer with a candidate for goal of the season.
"That was men against boys. He looked like the older lad in the playground. It was such a physical mismatch.
"Look at this, just enjoy this. I'm going to make the claim now: you're going to have to have a hell of a goal for that not to be goal of the season, and it's only November."
