ARSENAL BEAT OLYMPIACOS AT EMIRATES TO MAKE IT TWO WINS FROM TWO
The Gunners made it two wins from two in the UEFA Champions League league phase, beating Olympiacos with a goal in each half from Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, respectively.
Mikel Arteta’s side started on the front foot and had a golden opportunity to take the lead with less than two minutes played. Myles Lewis-Skelly fired in a brilliant cross from the left-hand side to an unmarked Gabriel Martinelli, who looked certain to score but somehow diverted his header wide of the target.
Arsenal continued to push forward with intent and after 12 minutes, they had the lead. Viktor Gyokeres burst past two Olympiacos players to latch onto the ball before firing an effort on goal, which, with help from a touch off the goalkeeper, struck the post, but, luckily for The Gunners, Martinelli was on hand to tap home the rebound.

The visitors had their best chance of the match in the 20th minute, with Chiquinho finding Daniel Podence with a great cross which the Portuguese met first time, but David Raya dived across brilliantly to turn the effort behind for a corner.
Olympiacos grew into the contest even more in the second half, putting Arsenal and their slender 1-0 lead under pressure with a series of attacks, but Arteta’s side stood firm.
Martin Odegaard thought he’d doubled Arsenal’s lead 10 minutes from time when Bukayo Saka found him in the penalty area, but Konstantinos Tzolakis was on hand to make an incredible save to deny the Gunners talisman.
Saka calmed the nerves inside Emirates Stadium in stoppage time when he netted Arsenal’s second, latching onto a delightfully weighted through ball from Odegaard before rifling his effort through the goalkeeper's legs.
That is now two wins from two for Arsenal in the group stage and no goals conceded, the perfect start to the campaign for Arteta's men.
