UFC fighter Allan Nascimento dies aged 34 after suspected heart attack

"Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene," read a UFC statement.

"Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan's family, friends, team-mates and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."

Nascimento, who had been with the UFC since 2021, last fought in a decision loss to Mitch Raposo in Las Vegas in June.

Nascimento had a UFC record of 4-2, and an overall MMA record of 22 wins - 16 of which came via submission - and seven losses.

Tributes poured in for the flyweight after the news was confirmed, including from former UFC champion and compatriot Charles Oliveira, who trained with Nascimento at Brazilian martial arts academy Chute Boxe.

"Today I lost a brother that the fight game gave me," Oliveira wrote on Instagram. "Thank you for always being by my side, for sharing the mats and the corner.

"I have nothing but gratitude for having you with me in training, in the corner, and just hanging out. I love you, man; you're a legend."

Brazilian lightweight fighter Elves Brener, who was also a training partner of Nascimento, said: "Thank you for the wonderful journey, brother.

"You were always an incredible person, and today is an extremely sad day for all of us at Chute Boxe. I will carry you in my heart forever, champion."

Chute Boxe posted a statement on social media, which read: "Today our team loses much more than an athlete; we lost a warrior, a friend, a dedicated competitor, and an extraordinary human being who earned the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

"Allan inspired on and off the mat with his determination, humility, respect and fighting spirit. Your presence will be missed immeasurably. Rest in peace Allan, your name, your story and your legacy will live forever through our star."

A tribute to Nascimento on the UFC website added: "A fixture on the doorstep of the Top 15, Nascimento was a constant presence alongside his team-mates whenever they made the walk, sharing an especially close bond with former lightweight champion and current BMF titleholder Charles Oliveira.

"Our condolences go out to Nascimento’s family and friends, the Chute Boxe Diego Lima team, and all those impacted by this sudden, heartbreaking loss."
