Nations League draw: Scotland, Republic of Ireland learn play-off opponents in draw, Italy face Germany in quarter-final

Scotland and Republic of Ireland are looking to avoid Nations League relegation after finishing third in their respective groups. They will both contest promotion/relegation play-offs, with Scotland facing Greece and Ireland taking on Bulgaria. The Nations League quarter-final draw has also been made, with France taking on Croatia, Germany facing Italy and Spain meeting the Netherlands.

Scotland will face Greece in their Nations League promotion/relegation play-off, with Republic of Ireland drawn to meet Bulgaria.
Scotland gave themselves a chance of staying in Nations League A after Andy Robertson scored a dramatic late winner against Poland in 2-1 victory on Monday.
They finished third in Group A1 and will now face Greece, who were second in Group B2 behind England, over a two-legged play-off.
If Scotland win, they stay in League A, while if they lose they are relegated to League B.
Republic of Ireland are in a similar position as they look to avoid relegation from the second tier of the competition.
They finished third in Group B2 and have been drawn against Bulgaria, who were runners-up in Group C3, in the play-offs.
The play-offs will be held on Thursday, March 20 and Sunday, March 23.
England and Wales ensured promotion to League A after winning top of Group B2 and B4 respectively. Northern Ireland also secured automatic promotion, rising to League B after topping Group C3.
Elsewhere in the promotion/relegation play-offs, Turkey face Hungary, while Ukraine meet Belgium and Austria take on Serbia.

Quarter-final draw

The Nations League quarter-finals features a rematch of the 2018 World Cup final as Croatia take on France.
Meanwhile, Netherlands will face Euro 2024 champions Spain and Denmark meet Portugal.
Germany will look to continue their good form under Julian Nagelsmann as they tackle Euro 2020 winners Italy.
The winner of Netherlands v Spain faces the victor between Croatia and France in the semi-finals, while either Denmark or Portugal will take on the winner of Italy v Germany.
The two-legged Nations League quarter-finals will be played on March 20 and March 23, with the one-legged semi-finals and final in early June, 2025.
England secured their return to Nations League A with back-to-back wins in their last two games under interim manager Lee Carsley.
