Arsenal close in on deal for Guimaraes

Arsenal are now poised to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
The Gunners expect to pay in excess of £70 million for the Brazilian, who has topped their transfer shortlist for the summer.
Guimaraes wants the move, with personal terms not expected to present an obstacle.
The departure of Guimaraes would represent a further setback during a difficult transfer window for Newcastle.
The club have already sold Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon, and manager Eddie Howe has also departed following confirmation of his exit on Thursday.
The Sun reports: ”Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes.
”The Gunners have made the midfielder a top target this summer and are expected to pay north of £70 million for him.
”Guimaraes is keen to join the Premier League champions and personal terms will not be an issue. The Brazilian’s departure would be the latest blow in a nightmare summer for Newcastle.
”The Magpies have already lost key men Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.
”Manager Eddie Howe has joined them in heading out the exit door after news of his bombshell departure came out on Thursday morning.”

Liverpool handed boost in Barcola pursuit

Liverpool have received encouragement in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as the French side close in on a transfer for his potential replacement, Maghnes Akliouche.
The Reds are seeking attacking reinforcements after an inconsistent campaign from Cody Gakpo and the recent departure of superstar Mohamed Salah.
Yan Diomande and Antonio Nusa were under consideration, but Barcola has been established as the primary target for Liverpool.
The Mirror reports: ”Liverpool have been handed a substantial boost in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola, with Paris Saint-Germain nearing a deal for Maghnes Akliouche, who could serve as a replacement. The Reds are in the market for a new winger following a patchy season from Cody Gakpo, and Mohamed Salah's recent exit.
”While talents such as Yan Diomande and Antonio Nusa have been on Liverpool's radar, it's Barcola who is understood to be the priority signing now.
”While the chances of a deal coming to fruition were slim just a matter of weeks ago, the odds have since risen substantially in Liverpool's favour.”

Atletico report Barcelona over Alvarez pursuit

Atletico Madrid have submitted a formal complaint to the Spanish Football Federation regarding Barcelona's behaviour in their pursuit of striker Julian Alvarez.
The grievance concerns an alleged breach of ethics, with Barcelona planning to contest the complaint.
Alvarez has a contract with Atletico that runs until 2030, but expressed a desire for a move away from the club during the World Cup.
Barcelona held discussions with Atletico in May regarding Alvarez and were preparing an offer worth approximately £87m.
The Athletic reports: ”Atletico Madrid have reported Barcelona to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) over their perceived improper pursuit of Julian Alvarez.
”The complaint relates to an alleged breach of ethics between the clubs, and Barcelona are set to lodge an appeal.
”Alvarez is under contract with Atletico until 2030 but has been the focus of multiple disputes between La Liga sides this summer, having told reporters during the World Cup that he wanted to seek a transfer away from the Metropolitano.
”The Athletic reported in May that Barcelona were in talks with Atletico over a potential deal for the 26-year-old forward, and were preparing a formal offer of around €100m ($116m; £87m) for him.”

Spurs target Man City winger Savinho

Tottenham Hotspur maintain an interest in Manchester City winger Savinho, who has revealed a desire to leave the club in search of regular playing time.
Manager Roberto De Zerbi has prioritised attacking acquisitions before the transfer deadline and indicated that a deal for a forward is progressing.
Tottenham are targeting a winger alongside a potential striker before the transfer window closes on September 1.
Savinho features prominently on the target list compiled by De Zerbi and sporting director Johan Lange due to his direct attacking style.
Standard Sport reports: ”Standard Sport understands that Tottenham hold an interest in Manchester City winger Savinho, with the Brazilian reportedly informing City earlier this week of his desire to leave in search of regular minutes.
"Attacking reinforcements are the priority for Spurs up until the end of the transfer window, and De Zerbi has hinted that the club are close to securing a deal for a new forward.
"Spurs are in the market for a winger, and potentially another striker before the transfer window shuts on September 1.
"Savinho ranks highly on their list of targets - which was compiled during negotiations between De Zerbi and sporting director Johan Lange in March - due to his directness and ability to get in behind the opposition defence.”
