Napoli reignite Mainoo interest
Reigning Serie A champions Napoli have reportedly reignited their interest in Manchester United academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo.
The England international has struggled for game time under Ruben Amorim, and attempted to push through a loan departure in the summer window.
Napoli were at the time reported to be interested in the 20-year-old, and according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Serie A side could reignite their interest in January amid an injury to Kevin De Bruyne.
Tavolieri’s SkySports.ch report reads: "This time, it's for real! In search of a central midfielder to compensate for Kevin De Bruyne's absence, Napoli are working on signing Kobbie Mainoo in January.
"While the Englishman has struggled to establish himself under Ruben Amorim, who has only given him 17% of Premier League playing time since the start of the season, the question of a departure is now more than ever on the table for The Red Devils' management.
"Although Manchester United are not considering a permanent transfer for Mainoo, and Napoli's management would like to include an option to allow the Englishman to remain permanently in Naples, a recent meeting between the player's agents and Manchester United has opened the door to a compromise.
"Indeed, Mainoo, convinced he could succeed under Antonio Conte, is tempted by a move to Serie A, and the Italian champions might agree to a loan with an option to buy that could become mandatory if certain conditions are met, particularly those related to the number of matches Mainoo plays in the second half of the season."

Alonso blocks Endrick departure
According to Spain’s Defensa Central, Xabi Alonso and Real Madrid have blocked Brazilian wonderkid Endrick’s January departure.
Endrick made his long-awaited return to action for Real Madrid at the weekend, coming off the bench during the club’s 4-0 dismantling of Valencia.
It was the 19-year-old’s first appearance in five months, with a spate of reports having suggested the player will depart on loan in January as a means of accumulating game time ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
However, Defensa Central has alleged that Endrick is now likely to remain in Madrid due to an injury to Franco Mastantuono.
The publication claims: "With Mastantuono's injury and an indefinite return date, Real Madrid has decided to put Endrick's departure on hold for the time being, anticipating that the Argentine's absence could be longer than expected.
"In that regard, the fact that Endrick played a few minutes on the right wing against Valencia at a good level could provide Xabi Alonso with a different option in that position."

Roma and AC Milan interested in Zirkzee
The race to sign United’s Joshua Zirkzee is heating up, according to another report from Tavolieri.
Zirkzee arrived at United from Bologna in 2024 but has already fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford amid the summer signings of Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha.
Given his limited minutes, Zirkzee is allegedly looking to leave the club in the upcoming January window.

Tavolieri said: "Having fallen out of favor, the Dutchman has already told his entourage to find him a loan deal in January to revive his career.
"A key player for Bologna under Thiago Motta, the Dutchman remains highly regarded in Serie A, where Gian Piero Gasperini's AS Roma are looking to bolster their attack.
"Very active in pursuing him, the Giallorossi have already begun discussions with Zirkzee's agents to reach a salary agreement."
The report continues: "Also interested in him, AC Milan are monitoring Zirkzee's situation and could enter the race for his signature in the next transfer window."

Fullkrug wants West Ham departure
Niclas Fullkrug’s agent has admitted that his client wishes to depart West Ham United this winter.
The Germany international has endured an injury-plagued 18-month spell in east London.
Fullkrug’s agent, Thorsten Firth, told the Tomorrow Business Podcast: "It’s a shame as he’s built for the Premier League.
"He’s physically strong and is a classic penalty area striker. There’s just been negative momentum and bad luck. The transfer [to West Ham] didn’t work out. There’s no point in sugar-coating it.
"How much more time are we going to give it? Is it already time to react? I think it might make sense to make some changes."
