Chelsea plot sensational Vinicius Jr move

Real Madrid and Vinicius Junior reportedly remain at an impasse over the winger’s future, with his on-pitch situation adding to the uncertainty ahead of what could be a decisive summer. However, the Brazilian may have a potential exit route in the Premier League with Chelsea plotting a sensational move.
According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea are reportedly planning a major move to secure Vinicius next summer, with the club said to be willing to spend €150m (£130m). His contract at the Bernabeu, which runs until June 2027, has yet to be extended, leaving Madrid with a delicate situation.
Their report states: "Vinicius Jr is no stranger to the situation. The footballer has offered himself to Chelsea as a real option if the scenario at Real Madrid does not improve in the coming months.
"The Premier League has always been an attractive destination for the Brazilian, both in terms of media and economy. The Chelsea sports project offers him total prominence and a contract that lives up to his expectations.
"This increases the pressure on Real Madrid, who must decide whether to maintain a firm position or begin to listen seriously to offers."

United will not appoint a permanent manager until the summer, and while the Daily Telegraph claim Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is currently the frontrunner, the club is compiling a broader longlist.
Reportedly, this includes Eddie Howe, Thomas Tuchel, Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino, Kieran McKenna, Michael Carrick, Roberto De Zerbi, Marco Silva, Gareth Southgate, and recently dismissed Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca.
Xavi has been linked with United consistently since leaving Barcelona. As recently as last month, he was named alongside Glasner as a candidate, and according to Diario AS, he remains on the club's list - though it is unclear how high up he ranks.

Juventus looking to bring back Chiesa on loan

Juventus have started talks with Liverpool over a loan move for Federico Chiesa, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 28-year-old Italy forward is said to be open to a return to the Serie A club where he spent two seasons between 2022 and 2024. Chiesa has started just three games in all competitions this season under Arne Slot, scoring twice, with a further 17 appearances coming off the bench.
Chiesa joined Juventus in a £42m permanent deal from Fiorentina back in July 2022 following two seasons on loan at the club.
Gazzetta's report reads: "Initial discussions have begun between Juventus and Liverpool regarding Federico Chiesa's return to Turin.
"After hearing the Italian winger's openness to a possible return to the Bianconeri, Juventus officials have expressed their interest in welcoming the player back to Continassa, exploring whether the Reds would be willing to open negotiations in the second half of January.
"Currently, Chiesa is dealing with Mohamed Salah's absence, who is playing in the Africa Cup of Nations, and Alexander Isak's injury, so he can't afford to lose a player in his attacking lineup. However, things could change in three weeks.
"At Juve, Chiesa could reunite with Luciano Spalletti and, most importantly, secure his chances ahead of the 2026 World Cup."

Romano states that Saudi clubs are keen, "as they have been for years... nothing new" - but a deal is seen as "realistic for the summer, not now".
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Lewandowski’s name surfaced during discussions between Al Hilal and Barcelona over Joao Cancelo. While the Blaugrana are expected to secure Cancelo's return on a €5m loan for the second half of the season, Al Hilal reportedly raised the possibility of including Lewandowski as part of the negotiations.
