The race for UEFA Champions League football is heating up, and after the appointment of Michael Carrick, Man Utd are firmly in the top five, which will secure passage to Europe's elite competition.
However, a shock defeat at home to Leeds United last time out rocked Man Utd's resurgent form under their caretaker boss as they suffered their second loss in the last 11 games.
The Red Devils are still third in the table and have a healthy seven-point buffer on Chelsea in sixth, whose heavy defeat to Manchester City on Sunday dented their chances of breaking into the Champions League places.
Chelsea are four points behind fifth-placed Liverpool after losing 3-0 at home last weekend to Manchester City.
In the process, City handed Chelsea their third straight league defeat - their fifth defeat in six across all competitions - while it was the Blues' second three-goal defeat in a row after suffering the same scoreline at Everton before the international break.
Going into this Premier League meeting, the pressure is on Liam Rosenior and Chelsea, but can Man Utd make their lives even more difficult as they push for a top-three finish?
Maguire was charged with improper conduct by the Football Association for his reaction to fourth official Matt Donohue as he left the pitch following his sending off at the Vitality Stadium last month.

What the managers said

In the build-up to the game, Rosenior spoke exclusively to TNT Sports and was hopeful that his players can turn around the club's poor run of form, starting with United.
”You hope so,” the Chelsea boss said. ”But you can't look too far ahead.
”You focus on each game, and the next game for us is Manchester United at home.
”If we make a really good performance and get a result there, then we look at [the next league fixture] Brighton and we move forward from there.”
There are protests expected from Chelsea fans ahead of the game, who are not satisfied with the direction of the club under the current ownership.
But Rosenior is hoping for the fans' full support once they step inside Stamford Bridge.
”We have to earn that with our performance on the pitch,” he said.
”You need to give your fans something to cheer, you need to give them something to go after, and hopefully we can do that on Saturday.”

In the opposite dugout, Carrick reflected on United's defeat to Leeds, as they look to get their charge to finish in the top three back on track.
"The players have responded well to the result and I think we responded well during the game too, especially in the second half," he told TNT Sports in an exclusive interview.
"You can have spells in the game where it doesn’t quite go for you. We didn’t start the game in the way we would’ve liked but in the second half with the situation we found ourselves, I thought the boys responded really well and it was really positive to see.
"That feeling has carried on during the week as we have an important game on Saturday and we want to take that last 30 minutes or so into the Chelsea match and enjoy playing with an extra player."
