Manchester United have taken the decision to sack Ruben Amorim after 14 months in charge, and the numbers behind his short tenure at Old Trafford do not make for pretty reading.

Amorim's time at the club has brought little joy to the United fanbase, and the numbers confirm that the Portuguese coach has the lowest win ratio of any permanent manager of the club in the Premier League era.

Amorim's final game was a 1-1 draw with Leeds United on Sunday that left the club sixth in the Premier League after 20 matches, bringing to an end an unsuccessful stint.

After joining in November 2024 from Sporting, he oversaw United’s lowest Premier League finish, ending last season in 15th place with just 42 points.

United also lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao, meaning the club failed to secure European football for the first time since 2014.

And after a productive summer transfer window that included the signings of Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, Amorim has been let go after failing to spark the revival the club has desperately needed.

Amorim oversaw 47 league games for United, winning just 15 and losing 19 for a win percentage of 31.9%.

Ralf Rangnick, who only managed the side for 24 league matches in an interim role during 2021/22, left with 41.7% and was the worst manager in terms of win percentage before Amorim.

Sir Alex Ferguson, who oversaw 26-and-a-half legendary years at Old Trafford, had an incredible win percentage of 65.2% from 810 matches.

Amorim managed United's Europa League campaign, which now has an extended league phase, whereas Rangnick only managed three Champions League games at the club.

The numbers do not stop there, however, as Amorim also departs with the most goals conceded per Premier League game with 1.53.

In comparison, Rangnick left with 1.38, and Amorim's predecessor Erik ten Hag conceded 1.32 goals per game from 85 league matches.

In just 47 games, Amorim's side conceded 72 league goals and kept only seven clean sheets, with a clean sheet ratio of 14.9%, far lower than Rangnick's 25% and Ten Hag's 35.3%.
