Harry Maguire will remain a Manchester United player until 2027 after signing a contract extension at Old Trafford. The 66-cap England defender joined the club from Leicester City for £80 million in 2019 and has made 266 appearances for The Reds to date. Manchester United have confirmed that defender Harry Maguire has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club until at least 2027.
Maguire was set to become a free agent at the end of the season, but the England centre-back has agreed an initial one-year extension, with the option of an additional 12 months.
The 33-year-old told the club's official website: "Representing Manchester United is the ultimate honour. It is a responsibility that makes myself and my family proud every single day.

"I am delighted to extend my journey at this incredible club to at least eight seasons and continue to play in front of our special supporters to create more amazing moments together.
"You can feel the ambition and potential of this exciting squad. The determination throughout the whole club to fight for major trophies is clear for everyone to see, and I am confident that our best moments together remain ahead of us."
Maguire signed for United from Leicester City in an £80 million deal back in 2019. That remains a world record fee for a defender.
While a portion of his time at Old Trafford has been marred by poor form and criticism from fans and pundits, Maguire has gone on to make 266 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals and winning both the FA Cup and League Cup.
He’s also been key to United’s revival under Michael Carrick, having started every game since the interim boss took over in January.
It’s a period that has seen the Old Trafford club lose only one of 10 games and move up to third place in the Premier League, within sight of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
Jason Wilcox, United's director of football, said: "Harry represents the mentality and resilience required to perform for Manchester United. He is the ultimate professional who brings invaluable experience and leadership to our young, ambitious squad.
"Harry, like everyone at the club, is completely determined to help Manchester United to achieve regular and sustained success."

Maguire's new deal comes after the centre-back earned an England recall during the recent internationals.
He featured in both the 1-1 draw with Uruguay and 1-0 defeat to Japan, raising hopes that the 66-cap international will make Thomas Tuchel's squad for this summer's World Cup in America.
