Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes has been ruled out for up to two months in what manager Eddie Howe described as a "major blow" at a key stage of the season. Newcastle could play up to 10 more matches before the international break in late March, beginning with their UEFA Champions League play-off versus Qarabag, which is live on TNT Sports and discovery+ this Wednesday.

Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes is set to miss a host of key matches after Eddie Howe confirmed he will be out for nearly two months because of a hamstring injury, with the head coach saying that it is a "major blow."
Guimaraes sustained a hamstring tear in the final minutes of The Magpies’ 2-1 Premier League win against Tottenham on Tuesday.
Speaking on Saturday, after Newcastle beat Aston Villa 3-1 in the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup, Howe confirmed the extent of the injury.
"I think it will be a couple of months," Howe said. "We’re probably looking at the end of the international break in March for his return.
"Massive blow for us at a key stage of the season. He’s devastated. But it is what it is, we can’t do anything about it.
"We have to get him back safely and other players have to step up in his absence."

Speaking to TNT Sports, Howe added: "He brings so much quality, technical quality, passion, that you'll never get a like for like replacement.
"I think we will be slightly different without him. We have to find a way. Our results without him haven't been good, we're well aware of that. So we've got to try and find a solution internally."
The absence of Guimaraes raises an issue at the heart of Howe’s midfield for some important matches on the horizon.
Guimaraes will now miss Newcastle’s clashes with Qarabag in the UEFA Champions League knockout play-off, with both games live on TNT Sports and discovery+.

Those matches appear either side of the visit to title-chasing Manchester City next Saturday night.
Guimaraes will also miss the home Premier League clashes with Everton on February 28 and Manchester United on March 4 - another match that can be watched live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
If Newcastle advance past Qarabag, Guimaraes is set to miss the round of 16 clash with either Chelsea or Barcelona.
Thanks to Newcastle coming from behind to beat Villa, they also now have an FA Cup fifth-round tie in early March, another match they will have to prepare for without Guimaraes.
The 28-year-old is also set to be out for the league game with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on March 14 and a home match against bitter rivals Sunderland on March 22.
