Evanilson has joined Bournemouth from FC Porto in a club-record deal reportedly worth more than £40 million. The Brazilian comes in to replace Dominic Solanke, who departed for Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the week after a stellar season in which he bagged 25 goals across all competitions. Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake described him as having "immense pedigree."

Bournemouth have signed striker Evanilson from FC Porto in a club-record deal reportedly worth £40.2 million on the eve of their first Premier League fixture of the new season.
The 24-year-old Brazilian has been handed the No. 9 shirt and comes in to replace England striker Dominic Solanke, who joined Tottenham Hotspur in a £65m deal earlier in the week.
The club confirmed that a record figure had been spent on Evanilson, with the BBC reporting an initial fee of £31.7m could rise to more than £40m thanks to £8.5m worth of clause-dependent add-ons.
“We are delighted to bring someone with an immense pedigree to AFC Bournemouth,” chief executive Neill Blake said.
“Evanilson is a hugely sought-after striker and for us to bring him to the club in a record-breaking deal shows our ambition and intent.
“Having scored 25 goals last season, including goals in the Champions League, we feel that his experience and ability despite only being 24 will help us to match our ambitions moving forward.

“It’s well known that we were keen on bringing a striker to the football club and for us to complete this deal so quickly is a testament to our recruitment team.”
Evanilson netted 60 goals in 154 games over four years with Porto. His form for the Portuguese giants earned him a first Brazil cap earlier this year, which he added to with a second call-up during the Copa America in the summer.
The former Fluminense marksman arrives in the Premier League on the back of his most productive season yet, scoring 25 goals in 42 games across all competitions for Porto in 2023/24.
Bournemouth begin their league campaign away to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
