Robert Lewandowski is full of optimism heading into the new season, with Barcelona aiming to defend their domestic treble. The Catalans had a fine 2024/25 campaign, and Lewandowski feels that the addition of Marcus Rashford was a shrewd move. Robert Lewandowski hailed the signing of "very talented" Marcus Rashford and is backing Lamine Yamal to improve even more next season at Barcelona.
The Spanish champions bolstered their frontline with the arrival of Rashford on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United, who links up with one of Europe’s most feared attacking players in Lamine Yamal.
Yamal scored 18 goals and claimed 25 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions last season, while Rashford is aiming to re-establish himself at the highest level after being deemed surplus to requirements by Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.
Lewandowski believes Rashford can make a big impact in Catalonia and cites the 27-year-old’s versatility as being his key asset.
The striker was speaking ahead of the club’s pre-season tour of Asia, which includes fixtures against Vissel Kobe, FC Seoul and Daegu.
He told the media: "Rashford is a very talented player. We played Manchester United two years ago and he was in great form.

"He can help us and is able to play in different positions."
Rashford will be hoping to elevate himself closer to the standing of Yamal, who has proven to be the man for big moments on numerous occasions for Barca.
Yamal recently turned 18 and was given the iconic number 10 shirt, worn by the likes of Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo over the years.
Lewandowski delivered an ominous message to the rest of Europe, declaring that the best is yet to come from the precocious teenage superstar.
"He is not a child anymore, he's an adult", quipped the Polish frontman.
"I am sure he can do better than he did last year."

Barca head into the new campaign on a high after claiming a domestic treble, which yielded La Liga, Spanish Cup and Spanish Supercup success.
The 36-year-old believes that can give the side an added injection of confidence as they head into a second campaign with Hansi Flick at the reins.
He continued: "We had a great squad last season, but we are in another position now.
"I think we are stronger than last year because the first year with Hansi Flick was new for many players, but everyone now knows where we need to go."
