TOTTENHAM BATTLE BACK TO EARN PRICELESS POINT AT BODO/GLIMT

With 66 minutes on the clock, Tottenham looked to be heading to defeat in the Arctic Circle against Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt. But despite being far from at their best, Thomas Frank's side managed to produce a late turnaround to earn a 2-2 draw after an action-packed UEFA Champions League encounter on Matchday 2.

Bodo bossed the first half, and could easily have gone in at half-time with a one- or two-goal lead. After Richarlison fluffed an early chance for Spurs, Rodrigo Bentancur's wild lunge at Fredrik Andre Bjorkan gifted the hosts a 35th-minute penalty. But striker Kasper Hogh blazed his spot-kick over the crossbar – his second penalty miss in successive Champions League games – as a golden opportunity went begging.

That wasn't Bodo's only opportunity. Jens Petter Hauge hit the side netting with a well-struck effort from range, before Sondre Brunstad Fet shot wildly over the crossbar from a great position just two minutes before the break.

Bodo continued their dominance early in the second half, and on 53 minutes they finally made the breakthrough. Hauge – Bodo's best player on the night – cut in from the left flank and fired a superb curling effort into the far corner to put the hosts ahead and send the 8,000 Bodo fans wild.

Spurs thought they'd levelled two minutes later, as Bentancur found the net with a close-range effort, but the goal was ruled out by VAR due to a shirt-pull from Micky Van de Ven.

Things went from bad to worse for Spurs when Hauge pulled another rabbit from his hat with a brilliant second goal for the hosts. But, once again, Tottenham responded quickly, as Van de Van headed home a Pedro Porro cross. This time the goal stood, and Spurs had a lifeline.

And, while Bodo came close to adding a third through substitutes Andreas Helmersen and Ole Didrik Blomberg, it was Spurs who had the final say, as substitute Archie Gray burst into the penalty area and centred for Richarlison, whose bundled effort came off substitute Jostein Gunderson to give the Lilywhites an 89th-minute equaliser, and ultimately, a point.

Spurs were second best. Bodo missed a host of chances but couldn't convert to get away from Tottenham. They rescued a point, and that's all that matters. When you look at the home games they've got coming up, they're all winnable.
