Simone Inzaghi has left Inter Milan, reportedly for Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, after the Serie A club suffered a record heaviest defeat in the UEFA Champions League final. Inzaghi, who led Inter to the 2023/24 Scudetto, had been linked with a move to the Middle East before the 5-0 defeat to European champions Paris Saint-Germain, after narrowly missing out on the Serie A title to Napoli.

Simone Inzaghi has left Inter Milan after the team's record-breaking defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final, the Italian club have confirmed.
Inzaghi, who led Inter to the 2023/24 Serie A title, the Coppa Italia twice, and three Supercoppa Italiana trophies, departs San Siro after his side suffered a 5-0 reverse in Munich.
The defeat was Inzaghi's second in a Champions League final during his four-year spell at the club, with Inter also finishing runners-up in 2022/23, after a narrow 1-0 loss to Manchester City.
"The time has come for me to say goodbye to this club after a journey of four years, during which I have given everything," Inzaghi said in a statement on Tuesday.
"Every day I have dedicated my first and last thought of the day to Inter. I have been reciprocated with professionalism and passion by players, managers and every single employee of the club.
"The six trophies won, including the Second Star Scudetto, along with the path to the UEFA Champions League in 2023 and just a few days ago, are tangible evidence of how much my work has been supported by a communion of purpose with my staff and every member of Inter.
"I thank the shareholders for the trust that has never been lacking, and the President and his staff for their daily help and dialogue.

The 2024/25 campaign was Inzaghi's only trophyless season during his spell as head coach.
He was appointed as Antonio Conte's replacement in 2021, succeeding the former Chelsea boss who guided Inter to their first Scudetto in 11 years.
Conte's Napoli beat Inter to the 2024/25 Serie A title by just a single point, despite the Milanese side beating Cesc Fabregas' Como on the final day of the season.
Before his move to Inter, Inzaghi led Lazio to three trophies during a five-year spell in charge of the club he represented 196 times during his playing career.

He won the Coppa Italia in the 2018/19 season, as well as two Supercoppa Italiana trophies.
The 49-year-old is now reportedly expected to replace Jorge Jesus in the Al-Hilal dugout. The Portuguese coach was sacked in May after he led the club to a second-placed finish in the Saudi Pro League last season.
They finished as the division's highest scorers with 95 goals in 34 matches, but were eight points behind champions Al-Ittihad.
Inzaghi is set to reunite with midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who was a key member of Lazio's midfield during his previous reign.
Former Premier League players Joao Cancelo, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves and Aleksandar Mitrovic are also in the Saudi club's ranks.
