Boxing legends Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao agree to professional rematch in Las Vegas in September

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao last fought one another in 2015. And now 11 years later, they are set to step into the ring once again. It was announced on Monday that the two boxing legends will face off once more in Las Vegas in September, rekindling their rivalry which gripped boxing for years. Mayweather will be 49 at the time of the fight while Pacquiao will be 47.

Boxing legends Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have agreed to a professional rematch, almost 11 years after their first fight.
Mayweather and Pacquiao fought in 2015 in the ‘Fight of the Century,’ one of the highest-grossing bouts of all time, with Mayweather winning by decision.
And on Monday, it was announced that the two would meet again in the ring at Sphere on September 19 in Las Vegas.
"I already fought and beat Manny once," Mayweather said in a statement, per the Associated Press. "This time will be the same result."
Mayweather turns 49 on Tuesday and Pacquiao is 47 years old.
Mayweather last fought professionally in 2017, beating Conor McGregor to take his undefeated record to 50-0. He has fought in numerous exhibition bouts since then, against the likes of Logan Paul and John Gotti III.
Pacquiao, on the other hand, ended his retirement last year, and fought Mario Barrios for the WBA welterweight title in July, 2025. The fight ended in a draw.
With a 62-8-3 professional record, Pacquiao is scheduled to fight former junior welterweight world champion Ruslan Provodnikov in an exhibition bout in April.
"Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history," Pacquiao said. "The fans have waited long enough - they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix.
"I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record, and always remember who gave it to him. As always, I dedicate this fight to my fellow Filipinos around the world and to bringing glory to the Philippines."

The pair’s first fight came years after fans had begun clamouring for it and the bout itself reflected the wait, falling below many people’s expectations.
After the fight in 2015, Pacquiao said he had suffered a shoulder injury in training which hampered his performance.
But even though, in 2026, both are well past their primes, their rematch is still likely to bring in a large audience.
