After more than five weeks of scintillating action across North America, the 2026 World Cup final is here. Spain will face Argentina tonight in football's biggest match, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
It is a match of huge intrigue, not least because of the clash of styles between the two nations. Can Argentina's never-say-die spirit topple Spain's passing carousel?
Incredibly, it is the first time that Spain and Argentina have met in a competitive match in more than 50 years, which certainly adds another layer of intrigue to the match, which kicks off at 20:00 BST.

Spain vs Argentina top tip: Spain to keep a clean sheet
Despite Argentina possessing arguably the greatest football talent to ever live, we are backing Spain to win fairly comfortably, keeping a clean sheet in the process.
This may seem like a bold call, given that Lionel Messi, Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez will all feature at some point for Argentina, but La Roja's defence has been by far the best at the tournament, conceding just one goal in seven matches.
In the semi-final, they not only kept the French out but also reduced them to virtually nothing. A team that had previously scored 16 World Cup goals this summer were reduced to just 0.3xg.
Spain did an excellent job at keeping Kylian Mbappe out of the game, and the aim will be to do the same with Messi.
Spain vs Argentina correct score tip: Spain 2-0 Argentina
Spain have come through a far tougher set of fixtures than Argentina in the knockout stages, yet they have done so far more comfortably than their South American opponents.
La Roja have defeated Austria, Portugal, Belgium and France to get here, while Argentina have overcome Cape Verde, Egypt, Switzerland and England. There is an argument that Spain have faced a tougher side in each round, which should stand them in good stead for the final.
Argentina have leaked goals throughout, conceding six goals across their four knockout round matches. Therefore, it is far from unreasonable to suggest the Spanish will score two goals on Sunday night.
